Editorial policy

How trust.you chooses topics, handles uncertainty and keeps commercial pressure out of guidance.

Reader need comes first

A page must answer a distinct question or enable a distinct task. Search demand alone is not a reason to publish. We merge overlapping ideas, exclude thin location variants and do not create pages merely to occupy a query.

Evidence and language

We distinguish direct evidence, informed inference and unresolved uncertainty. We avoid guaranteed-safety language and do not treat a badge, domain age, testimonial or automated score as proof. High-consequence advice points readers to the relevant institution or official reporting route.

Independence

We do not accept paid placement, link insertions or undisclosed incentives. Imported articles enter the same topical and quality controls as first-party pages, carry no ranking privilege and publish on a slow schedule.

AI disclosure

AI tools may help organise drafts, test code and generate the site's original editorial artwork. Editors remain responsible for scope, verification, wording and correction. Automation is never presented as lived experience or professional authority.
