Trusted reporting resources

Start with the institution closest to the incident, then use official national reporting channels for your location.

Act through the closest institution first

If money moved, contact the bank, card issuer, payment service or exchange through its official app or a number you already know. If an account is exposed, use the provider's official recovery flow from a known-clean device. A national report does not replace these immediate containment steps.

Official reporting routes by location

Choose the service for the place where you live or where the incident occurred. These links go directly to government or law-enforcement services and were reviewed on 2026-10-08.

United States

Report consumer scams to the FTC. Report cyber-enabled crime to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center.

Canada

The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre accepts fraud and cybercrime reports and explains when to contact local police.

Australia

Scamwatch accepts suspicious-contact reports and routes cybercrime victims to the appropriate police reporting service.

New Zealand

Singapore

If your location is not listed

Use your national police, consumer-protection or cyber-security agency's own website. Type its known address or reach it through your government's main portal. Do not use a reporting number, recovery firm or payment address supplied by the person you are reporting.

Preserve useful evidence

Keep original messages, sender details, URLs, transaction references, dates, account changes and case numbers. Share the minimum personal data needed through the authority's secure form. Do not pay anyone who guarantees recovery or claims that a fee is needed to release recovered money.
